Young Pakistani pacer Naseem Shah impressed fans after bowling a dominant spell during the first ODI of five-match series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Naseem, who bowled a brilliant first spell, couldn't find his first wicket initially. He took two wickets in his last over but overall he remained dominant, conceding just 29 runs in 10 overs.

His spell also impressed former cricketers Shahid Khan Afridi and Rashid Latif who showered praises on him on Twitter.

Outstanding bowling by Naseem, he bowled exactly how a fast bowler should on such pitches. It is a gettable total, hope the batters can chase this down. Goodluck Pakistan!" Afridi wrote.

"Excellent bowling by Naseem Shah due to his length accuracy at Rawalpindi stadium," Latif wrote.

Fans also praised Naseem for bowling brilliantly.

Pakistan speedster Naseem broke the world record for most wickets after first six ODI matches of career.

After claiming two wickets in the first ODI against New Zealand in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Naseem has now clinched 20 wickets in six ODIs.

The record was previously held by New Zealand’s Matt Henry, who claimed 19 wickets in first six matches of his career.

Shah registered impressive figures of 2-29 in 10 overs as New Zealand set Pakistan a target of 289 runs.
